A New Day

You came into my life
And made it bright,
Bright enough that I didn't need the sun at day,
Your aura was so intoxicating,
You left me breathless.
You cheerful sunny thing,
You always kept me happy.
Loving you was the best thing that I ever did,
Even though we are not together anymore.
You are no more in love with me now.
But It doesn't matter.
At one time you had given me all your love
And had taught me that I could love myself too.
I don't lament on the separation,
It taught me to be strong.
It freed me of all complexities,
I now feel I am complete.
I believe this new me is your creation.
You had made me feel special
And I believe I can now live my life without you.
Losing you was never a loss for me,
It has paved the way for a better tomorrow.
I have regained the strength to move on in life,
I have learnt the secret to remove all sorrow.
